Lord Charles Allen Joins Moelis & Company as Advisory Chairman

Lord Allen will continue to serve as the Chairman of ISS A/S, a leading global facility services company; Chairman of Global Ltd, the largest commercial radio group in the UK; as well as Chairman of 2 Sisters Food Group Ltd, a leading food production company serving the retail sector.
From 2008 to May 2015, Lord Allen served as a Senior Advisor to Goldman Sachs, providing advice and support to the firm’s private equity portfolio and to their banking business. Also in 2008, Lord Allen joined the board of Virgin Media Group, on which he served until 2013. That same year he joined the board of EMI Music where he served as Chairman until 2010. Beginning in 1999, Lord Allen served for 10 years as a non-executive chairman on the board of Tesco PLC, one of the world’s largest retailers and the UK’s largest grocer.
Throughout his career, Lord Allen has also held Chief Executive Officer positions at Compass Group PLC, a food and support services company he successfully took public in 1988, and ITV PLC, where he created the market leading digital channel business and the third largest production company in Europe.
Coinciding with his executive career, Lord Allen was also involved with the London Olympic and Paralympic Games – serving as Vice Chairman of the London 2012 bid; and serving on the board of the London Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. From 2006 to 2008, he acted as the Chief Advisor to the UK Home Office, providing advice and support to the Home Secretary and the Home Office Board on various matters.

John A. Allison Appointed as an Independent Member of the Moelis & Company Board of Directors

Moelis & Company (NYSE: MC), a leading global independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of John A. Allison, as an independent member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Allison currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Advisory Council of the Cato Institute’s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives, and as a member of the Cato Institute’s Board of Directors. He was President and CEO of the Cato Institute from October 2012 to April 2015. Prior to joining Cato, Mr. Allison was Chairman and CEO of BB&T Corporation, one of the largest financial services holding companies by assets, headquartered in the United States. During Mr. Allison’s tenure as CEO from 1989 to 2008, BB&T grew from $4.5 billion to $152 billion in assets.
“John has an impressive track record as a leader in the financial services industry,” said Ken Moelis, Chairman and CEO of Moelis & Company. “We are delighted to have him on our Board of Directors. Through his experience growing BB&T and now as a Chairman at the Cato Institute, John will undoubtedly bring a unique perspective to our Board, our Firm, and our clients.”
Mr. Allison will become the third independent director on the Moelis & Company Board of Directors. He will also serve as a member of the Firm’s Audit Committee and Compensation Committee. Mr. Allison will begin serving on the Board on November 4, 2015.
In addition to his time at BB&T and the Cato Institute, Mr. Allison also served as a Distinguished Professor of Practice on the faculty of the Wake Forest University School of Business from 2009 to 2012. He has received the Corning Award for Distinguished Leadership, been inducted into the North Carolina Business Hall of Fame, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Banker, and was recognized by the Harvard Business Review as one of the top 100 most successful CEOs in the world over the last decade.
Mr. Allison is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. He received his master’s degree in management from Duke University, and is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

Mr. Motulsky joins Moelis & Company with more than 25 years of investment banking experience, particularly working with large cap multinational consumer companies. Mr. Motulsky has spent the past 16 years at Lazard where he most recently served as Managing Director and Global Head of Consumer and Retail. Previously, Mr. Motulsky was a Partner at Tanner & Co., a merchant banking and mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, and worked at Salomon Brothers Inc.
“The consumer sector is experiencing increased horizontal consolidation as companies seek to achieve scale, cost savings, and global distribution capabilities. Mr. Mahmoodzadegan has more than 20 years of investment banking experience advising clients in the technology, media and telecom sectors. Moelis & Company Announces the Appointment of Zach Righellis as a Managing Director Providing Financial and Strategic Advice to Semiconductor and Electronics Clients

Mr. Righellis will join the Firm in mid-July and will be based in Palo Alto.
Mr. Righellis will join Moelis & Company with more than 15 years of investment banking and management consulting experience during which time he has provided strategic advice to corporate clients on M&A, IPOs, capital markets and restructuring transactions. Most recently, Mr. Righellis served as a Managing Director at Barclays, formerly Lehman Brothers, in Menlo Park advising on both M&A and capital markets transactions for semiconductor and electronics companies in the U.S., Asia, Europe and Israel. Mr. Righellis joined Lehman Brothers in 2005, working across several technology sectors including software, communications technology and cleantech, and began focusing on semiconductors and electronics in 2006. Previously, Mr. Righellis was a consultant in technology and operations at Sapient Corporation.

Stephen F. Bollenbach Steps Down from Moelis & Company Board of Directors

Moelis & Company (NYSE: MC), a leading global independent investment bank, today announced that Stephen F. Bollenbach has resigned from the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Bollenbach’s decision to resign from the Board was not due to any disagreement with the Firm’s management or the Board. The Firm intends to seek to appoint a new director to the Board by the end of the third quarter this year.
During Mr. Bollenbach’s tenure, he served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and Chairman of the Compensation Committee.

Moelis & Company Expands Oil and Gas Coverage with Senior Managing Director Hire in Houston

Mr. Cunningham will join the Firm in October and will be based in Houston.
This is Moelis & Company’s second oil and gas hire in three months after the Firm announced the appointment of Christopher Shaw, a Managing Director in the London office.
Mr. Cunningham joins Moelis & Company with 20 years of investment banking experience advising and executing various merger, acquisition, restructuring, debt, equity, and asset valuation transactions for companies across the oil and gas sector. He joins after spending nearly eight years as a Managing Director at Tudor Pickering Holt & Co., where he was one of the initial five Managing Directors in the investment banking group.
