Osamu Watanabe is General Counsel at Moelis & Company where he leads the Firm’s legal and compliance department.
Prior to Moelis & Company, Osamu was General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Sagent Advisors. Prior to that, he held senior positions at UBS, Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Osamu started his career in private practice at Sullivan & Cromwell, working in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Melbourne. He also clerked for the Honorable Morey L. Sear, Eastern District of Louisiana. Osamu holds a B.A. in History from Antioch College and a J.D. from Yale Law School.

Mark Webber is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he provides financial and strategic advice to clients in the life sciences industry, with a focus on the medical devices sector. He has extensive investment banking experience, with expertise in advising strategics and financial sponsors on a broad range of mandates including M&A and a variety of other corporate finance matters.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mark held several roles in the financial services industry, including transaction advisory positions at PwC and EY. He holds a degree in Accountancy from Rhodes University in South Africa and an M.B.A. from the London Business School.

Angus Whelchel
Managing Director
Head of Private Capital Markets

Angus Whelchel is a Managing Director and Head of Private Capital Markets at Moelis & Company, focusing on the Firm’s public and private market origination and distribution capabilities. Angus has more than 20 years of investment banking experience working with clients across all industries and has helped raise over $200bn of private capital globally across debt and equity.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Angus served as Global Head of Private Capital Markets in New York and Head of Private Capital Markets for EMEA in London at Barclays. Earlier in his career, Angus held positions in the Private Placement market at Lehman Brothers and GE Capital. Angus holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A from the College of William and Mary. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Shlomo Yanai is a Senior Advisor at Moelis & Company. Shlomo most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd from 2007 to 2012. Prior to Teva, he served four years as the Chief Executive Officer and President of ADAMA Agricultural Solutions Ltd. During his nearly 15 years as a corporate executive, Shlomo has successfully completed over 20 acquisitions and integrations. Shlomo currently holds board positions at a number of companies and organizations including his role as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and member of the Governance and Compensation Committees at Cambrex, Director of Perrigo Public Limited Company, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Protalix BioTherapeutics.
Shlomo holds a B.A. degree in Political Science and Economics from Tel Aviv University and an M.P.A in National Resources Management from the George Washington University. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School and U.S. National War College (NDU).

Irene Zhang is a Managing Director and Global Head of Tax at Moelis & Company. Irene oversees the Firm’s global tax strategies and operations and is responsible for tax planning, reporting and compliance. Irene has over 20 years of experience as a senior tax advisor and strategic business partner to financial services firms and alternative asset management businesses.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Irene was with Ernst & Young’s M&A transaction tax practice where she advised private equity sponsors and corporate strategic investors on a variety of transactions, including M&A, divestitures, restructuring, fund formation and cross-border planning. She began her career in Deloitte & Touche’s Private Client Advisor group where she advised asset management funds and their general partners on tax reporting and planning. Irene holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a M.S. in Taxation, both from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
