Brian Callaci

Brian Callaci is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company where he is responsible for advisory efforts in the food, beverage and consumer product sectors. Mr. Callaci has over 26 years of investment banking experience advising corporate clients, private equity firms and family owners on a wide range of transactions including M&A, divestitures, defense, joint ventures, leveraged buyouts, initial public offerings, common equity, preferred stock and debt financings. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, he was Co-Head of the Consumer Investment Banking Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to his 17-year career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Mr. Callaci worked at Salomon Brothers Inc. as an Analyst and Associate.

Mr. Callaci holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois (high honors) and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Eric Cantor

Eric Cantor is the Vice Chairman and a Managing Director at Moelis & Company where he also serves on the Board of Directors. He joined the Firm to advise clients on public policy issues across industry sectors, particularly where international business and finance intersect. Mr. Cantor, who has more than 25 years of political and business experience, was formerly United States Representative from Virginia. He served as House Majority Leader from 2010-2014, during which he led the public policy agenda for the House. During his time in office, Mr. Cantor was a champion of pro-growth solutions including lowering taxes, eliminating excessive regulation, strengthening businesses, and encouraging entrepreneurship. One of his many accomplishments as Majority Leader was the passage of the JOBS Act, which makes it easier for start-up and emerging growth companies to access capital. Mr. Cantor is regularly featured in publications focusing on a wide range of topics including both domestic and international matters.

Mr. Cantor holds a B.A. from The George Washington University, a J.D. from The College of William and Mary, and an M.A. from Columbia University. He co-authored the New York Times best-selling book, “Young Guns: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders”. Mr. Cantor serves as a member of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Executive Council on Infrastructure and has been named a visiting fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He also serves on the U.S. Department of Defense Policy Board, a group tasked with providing the Secretary of Defense with independent, informed advice and opinion concerning matters of defense policy.

Thane W. Carlston

Thane Carlston is a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Recapitalization & Restructuring Group at Moelis & Company. Mr. Carlston has worked in the investment banking industry for over 25 years, specializing in the distressed advisory sector working with companies, corporate boards, creditor groups, sponsors, and corporate parents of troubled subsidiaries. He joined Moelis & Company to help build its restructuring franchise, now a recognized market leader around the globe advising on complex, distressed corporate matters. From 1998 to until joining the Firm in 2008, he was Co-Head of the Restructuring Group at Jefferies & Company. Mr. Carlston has structured and led numerous out-of-court transactions utilizing exchange offers, consent solicitations, and negotiations with lenders to secure bank amendments and waivers. He also has extensive experience in distressed M&A, distressed debt financing and advising on matters that involve pre-packaged, pre-arranged and unplanned Chapter 11 reorganizations.

Mr. Carlston holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Utah and an M.B.A. from UCLA.

Ping Chen

Ping Chen is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he advises on both Asian and global cross-border transactions across all major industries. Mr. Chen has over 11 years of investment banking experience and has completed a number of high profile transactions including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, leveraged buyouts and restructurings. Prior to joining Moelis & Company in 2014, Mr. Chen was a Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Asia Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Previously, he was an Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Citi London and started his career in the Equity Capital Market Group at Morgan Stanley London.

Mr. Chen holds an MEng and a BEng, top of the 1st Class, in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Management Studies from Imperial College London. He also holds an MEng in Financial Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Ed P. Chiang

Ed Chiang is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company where he specializes in equity capital markets advisory, providing clients advisory services in public offerings and placement services in private offerings.  Mr. Chiang joined the Firm as a Senior Advisor before taking a role as Managing Director a year later, and is responsible for providing capital raising solutions to a broad range of clients. He has over 28 years of investment banking and capital markets experience, having executed over 150 equity offerings including IPOs, follow-ons, convertibles, 144A offerings, venture capital, acquisition financings, limited partnerships and royalty financings. Prior to Moelis & Company, he spent 16 years between Merrill Lynch and Banc of America Securities, where he was most recently a Managing Director and a member of the Equity Capital Markets Operating Committee, in addition to being Group Head of Private Equity Placements. At Merrill Lynch, Mr. Chiang was an investment banker in the Private Equity and the Mergers & Acquisitions groups. He also served as an international equity capital markets specialist at Furman Selz prior to its acquisition by ING Barings.

Mr. Chiang received an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University.

Matt Chlystek

Matt Chlystek is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company where he specializes in advising consumer food and agribusiness companies. Mr. Chlystek has over 20 years of investment banking experience, leading and executing numerous domestic and cross border M&A transactions, equity, and debt underwritings for global food and agribusiness companies. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, he spent 12 years at J.P. Morgan in the Global Consumer & Retail Investment Banking group, most recently as a Managing Director. Before that, Mr. Chlystek was a member of Bank of America’s Consumer Investment Banking group. He began his career as a management consultant at Andersen Consulting in London and Chicago.

Mr. Chlystek holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Lawrence S. Chu

Lawrence S. Chu is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company where he provides financial and strategic advice to large cap companies globally, with a concentration on the communications, media and technology sectors. Mr. Chu has over 20 years of experience in this role. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Chu was appointed Special Adviser to the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Before the FCC, Mr. Chu was a Managing Director at Greenhill & Co. and prior to that, was a Managing Director at Evercore Partners.

Mr. Chu graduated magna cum laude (Phi Beta Kappa) from New York University with a degree in Computer Science. He is President of the Board of Trustees as well as a member of the Nursery School Board of Directors and Governance Committee of The First Presbyterian Church in the City of New York.  Mr. Chu is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Friends Academy in Locust Valley, New York.

Kate Pilcher Ciafone is a Managing Director and Head of Global Advisory Business Management at Moelis & Company. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Ms. Ciafone worked in the UBS Investment Bank Office of the CEO and President, where she helped to analyze growth opportunities and develop the strategy of the firm. Prior to this, Ms. Ciafone was an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group at UBS Investment Bank. In this role, she advised clients in the commercial banking, asset management, broker-dealer, specialty finance and financial technology sectors on mergers and acquisitions and raising equity and debt financing.

Ms. Ciafone holds a B.S. in Commerce with distinction from The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

John Colella

John Colella is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company where he focuses on transactions in the power and utility sectors. He joined the Firm with expertise in several energy sectors including electric, water and gas utilities as well as independent power producers and renewable energy companies. Mr. Colella has been in the investment banking industry for over 15 years and has advised some of the largest global power and utility clients on critical strategic and capital raising transactions. He also advises on M&A, capital markets, restructuring and bankruptcy transactions. Previously, Mr. Colella was a Managing Director at JP Morgan covering power and utility clients. Prior to joining JP Morgan in 2007, Mr. Colella was a member of the Global Utilities Group at UBS Investment Bank.

Mr. Colella holds a B.A. from Rutgers College and an M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, where he was a Park Leadership Fellow.

Previously, he was a Managing Director at Greenhill & Co. leading the firm’s Life Sciences coverage. Prior to Greenhill & Co., Mr. Contractor worked in Lehman Brothers’ Private Equity group. He began his career as an Analyst in the Financial Institutions group at Lehman Brothers.

Mr. Contractor graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business and holds an M.B.A with honors from the Harvard Business School.

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Counselman was a Managing Director and Global Head of Software Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank, where he also previously served as Co-Head of Technology M&A. Before that, Mr. Counselman worked at Merrill Lynch & Co. and The Carlyle Group. He began his career as an auditor in Arthur Andersen’s financial services practice.

Elizabeth Crain is the Chief Operating Officer and a Founding Partner at Moelis & Company where she leads the Firm’s global strategy, infrastructure and business management functions. Ms. Crain has been in the investment banking and private equity industries for over 25 years as a banker, principal and operations executive. Prior to Moelis & Company, Ms. Crain was a Managing Director in the UBS Investment Bank where she was the Manager of the Investment Bank Client Committee and a member of the Investment Bank Board. In addition, she was both the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of the UBS Investment banking Department Americas franchise. Ms. Crain was named one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Finance by American Banker magazine in 2011 and 2012.

Ms. Crain holds a B.S. in Economics from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She serves on the Board of Trustees of The Windward School and the Royal Academy America. Ms. Crain is also a member of the Graduate Executive Board of The Wharton School and the Dean’s Council of the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

Bob Crowley is a Managing Director and Head of the Boston office at Moelis & Company. He joined at the Firm’s founding to manage the build-out of the Firm’s first office in Boston and to lead its expansion in the homebuilding sector. Mr. Crowley has over 20 years of investment banking experience advising on and executing various homebuilding merger, acquisition, restructuring, debt and equity transactions. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Crowley was head of high yield capital markets at UBS and previously led top franchises in the homebuilding and environmental services sectors of UBS’s Global Industrials Group. Mr. Crowley started his banking career at Salomon Brothers and worked at BankBoston before joining UBS. Before becoming a banker, Mr. Crowley was an Institutional Investor-ranked high yield research analyst covering the homebuilding/building materials sectors. Mr. Crowley was honored as Investment Dealers’ Digest’s 2009 “40 Under 40.”

Mr. Crowley holds a B.A. in International Politics and Economics from Middlebury College. He currently serves as Treasurer and board member of the Shady Hill School, as President of the Franconia Ski Club, member of the corporation of the Belmont Hill School, is the former President of Hill House Boston, and was previously a member of the Joint Center for Housing Studies’ Policy Advisory Board at Harvard University.

Previously, he spent eight years as a Managing Director at Tudor Pickering Holt & Co., where he was one of the initial five Managing Directors in the investment banking group. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. de Jong worked at Barclays, formerly Lehman Brothers, and was most recently their Global Head of Life Sciences. While at Barclays, he executed a broad range of transactions across the healthcare sector and developed a portfolio of relationships across the U.S. and Europe.

Mr. de Jong holds an M.S. from the University of Utrecht.
