Moelis & Company (NYSE: MC), a leading global independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of Robert Sorrell as a Managing Director providing strategic and financial advice to Financial Sponsor clients across Europe. He will be based at Moelis & Company’s European headquarters at St Paul’s in the City of London.

Mr. Sorrell joins from Sorrell Capital LLP, a partnership that focused on investment management and advisory services. Prior to this Mr. Sorrell had a 14 year career at Goldman Sachs where he held a number of roles including Managing Director and Co-Head of the Private Finance Group for Europe, Middle East, Africa.

Moelis & Company (NYSE: MC), a leading global independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of Maarten de Jong as a Managing Director providing financial and strategic advice to healthcare clients in the U.S. and internationally. Mr. de Jong will join the Firm in August and will be based in New York.

Mr. de Jong brings nearly 20 years of experience to Moelis & Company having previously worked at Barclays Capital, and formerly Lehman Brothers, where he was most recently Global Head of Life Sciences. Moelis & Company today announced the appointment of Anthony Root as a Senior Advisor based in Hong Kong.  Mr. Root, whose distinguished legal career spanned nearly 30 years, will provide senior level advice and expertise to clients throughout the region.

Mr. Root joins from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy where was the Managing Partner for Asia from 2001.  He was also the head of Milbank’s Asia corporate practice, its China practice and its Beijing and Hong Kong offices.  During his tenure, Milbank grew in Asia from 15 to more than 70 lawyers, opened the Beijing office and acquired Hong Kong law capability.

Moelis & Company today announced that John Joliet and Brian Webber have joined the firm as Managing Directors based in Los Angeles. They will expand the firm’s coverage of the technology sector with a particular focus on business and technology services and software companies.

Mr. Joliet has over 15 years of investment banking experience and was most recently Managing Director and Global Head of Software Investment Banking at UBS Investment Bank. He also served as the Head of UBS Investment Bank’s Los Angeles office. Prior to joining UBS in 2001 he worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Mr. Webber has over 17 years of investment banking experience. He joined UBS Investment Bank in 2001 and was most recently Managing Director and Global Head of Technology Investment Banking. Prior to joining UBS he worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and was the Head of Business and Technology Services Investment Banking. He previously worked in technology product development at Ford Motor Company.

As part of its continued international expansion, Moelis & Company, the New York-headquartered independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of five Senior Directors who bring global financial, government and economic experience to the firm and will provide senior counsel and strategic advice on industry issues particularly across international financial markets.

Under the Chairmanship of Lord Mervyn Davies, Baron Davies of Abersoch, CBE, former Chairman and CEO of Standard Chartered PLC and Minister of State for Trade, Investment and Small Business for the United Kingdom, the Senior Directors will collectively form the firm’s Global Advisory Board.

Lord Davies, who joined the firm last year and who is also Special Advisor to Ken Moelis, CEO of Moelis & Company, will be joined on the Global Advisory Board by:

Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky – Former United States Trade Representative, Executive Office of the President, U.S. Government, currently Senior International Partner at WilmerHale;

Kwon Ping Ho – Founder and Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Group, Singapore, and Chairman of the Wah Chang Group;

Michael Marks – Founding Partner of Riverwood Capital, former Chairman and CEO of Flextronics, and former Senior Advisor at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co;

Sidney Taurel – Former Chairman and CEO of Eli Lilly and Company, and currently Senior Advisor at Capital Royalty LLP, a private equity firm investing in intellectual property in the biopharmaceutical industry; and

Hubert Védrine – Founding Partner of Hubert Védrine Conseil, and Chairman of the Institut François Mitterrand. Between 1997 and 2002 he was Minister of Foreign Affairs in Lionel Jospin’s cabinet, and between 1981 and 1995 he was Foreign Affairs Advisor, then Chief of Staff, of French President François Mitterrand.

Moelis & Company announced today that Stuart Goldstein will join the firm in June as a Managing Director based in Los Angeles.  Mr. Goldstein, who has 12 years of investment banking experience, will provide advisory services to clients in the technology sector.

Moelis & Company announced today that Alex Rubin will join the firm in June as a Managing Director based in New York.  Mr. Rubin, who has 18 years of investment banking experience, will be responsible for providing advisory services to clients in the real estate sector.

Mr. Rubin joins from Citigroup, where he was a Managing Director in Global Real Estate Investment Banking.  In this role, Mr. Rubin advised public and private real estate clients such as REITs, real estate finance companies and private equity investment firms on a wide range of corporate finance transactions including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and recapitalizations.  Prior to joining Citigroup, Mr. Rubin was a Managing Director and Co-Head of European Real Estate Investment Banking at UBS based in London as well as a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in New York.

Moelis & Company announced today that Stan Holtz has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in Chicago.  Mr. Holtz, who has almost 20 years of investment banking experience, will lead the firm’s coverage effort in the telecommunications sector.

Mr. Holtz joins from Bank of America, where he was most recently a Managing Director and Head of US Telecom Investment Banking.  While at Bank of America, Mr. Holtz built a leading franchise advising telecom companies on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, restructurings and leveraged buyouts.  Prior to joining Bank of America, Mr. Holtz was a Managing Director and Head of US Wireless Communication Services Investment Banking at UBS as well as a Managing Director in the Media and Telecommunications Group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.  Mr. Holtz began his career at Smith Barney.
